When you interact with or use the Services, we may collect personal information about you. We may collect this information automatically (e.g., information about how you use the Services), directly from you (e.g., when you create an account), or from other sources and third parties, including other users.
Registration Information – We may allow you to create a user profile visible to other users of the Services. If you create an account, you provide your name, username, email address, password, and other information used to verify your identity. This may occur through in-app prompts, which you may skip. Your account may publicly identify you within social features of the Services, such as commenting or reacting to a content, and other similar social or engagement features. Your username will be visible to other users and may allow access to any profile information you make public.
Address Book Information – We may offer you the option to import contacts or manually enter email addresses to find and invite others to the Services. This is typically collected through the use of third-party mobile SDKs. If you choose to do so, we store this information to help facilitate connections. You are responsible for ensuring this sharing complies with applicable laws, including obtaining any required consent.
Payment Information – When you make purchases through the Services, we collect non-financial transaction details such as items purchased, price, and date. Payments are processed by third-party providers (e.g., Apple, Google, Amazon), who collect and process your payment information, including billing details. These providers may retain your information for future purchases and do not share financial details (e.g., credit card numbers) with us. Their practices are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Customer Support Information – If you contact Customer Support, we collect your contact details (such as name and email), information about your activity on the Services, and your username or ID. We also retain your communications with us.
Communication Preferences – We collect information about your preferences, such as when you subscribe to updates, alerts, or other communications.
Surveys, Research, Competitions, and Promotions – If you participate in surveys, research projects, competitions, or promotional activities, we collect your contact information (e.g., name, email, phone number, address) and any additional information you provide, such as responses, recordings, photos, or screen captures. This information is used to administer the activity and communicate with you. We may also collect shipping or billing information to deliver rewards or incentives. If you participate through a partner, we may collect details such as your name, company email, and company address. Participation in these activities is voluntary.
Technical and Usage Information – When you use the Services, we use cookies and similar technologies to collect: (i) technical information about your device, such as your IP address, device identifiers (e.g., IDFA or Google Advertising ID), and operating system version; and (ii) your activities on the Services (including the time and frequency) and information about how you interact with them, including chats, messages you send and receive, and associated metadata; purchases or other transactions; types of content you create or upload, view or interact with, and how you interact with them (e.g., commenting, liking, starring, bookmarking, forwarding/sharing with other users); and other features you use or engage with.
Our emails may also include tracking pixels that allow us to determine whether and when you open an email, how often you view it, and whether you click on any links. In some cases, we assign a unique identifier to your device similar to an account number. We may also collect additional information such as your device name, device type, phone number, country, and any information you choose to provide (e.g., username, character name, or email address). We may also derive your approximate location based on your IP address. For more details, see the Interest-Based Advertising section below.
Social Media Information – If you log into the Services using Facebook Connect, we may collect information available from your Facebook account, such as your name, Facebook ID, profile picture (or URL), and your friends list.
We may collect or receive information about you from other sources, including: (i) other users who upload their email contacts; (ii) third-party providers, such as advertising partners; and (iii) social networking platforms. We may combine this information with data we collect directly from you.
We use information collected through the Services for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or otherwise disclosed to you. For example, we use your information for:
You can opt out at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link in emails or adjusting your device settings.
We may use or share information that has been aggregated or deidentified so it can no longer be linked to you for business, research, or other lawful purposes. Where we process such information, we will maintain it in deidentified form and will not attempt to re-identify it, except as necessary to verify our deidentification processes.
We may share your information with the following categories of recipients. Information disclosed to third parties may be processed in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Service Providers and Business Partners – We share information with vendors, service providers, and business partners that perform services on our behalf or support our operations. This may include payment processing, customer support, hosting, security and anti-fraud, research, and technical services. These parties are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
Advertising and Analytics Partners – We may share information with advertising, marketing, and analytics partners to deliver, measure, and improve advertising and content, and to better understand user engagement. This may include aggregated or deidentified data, as well as certain identifiers where permitted by law.
Third-Party Apps and Integrations – If you choose to connect your account to third-party apps, platforms, or features, we may share information as directed by you to enable those integrations and provide related functionality.
Affiliates and Corporate Group – We may share information within our corporate group, including affiliates, subsidiaries, and related entities, to operate and improve the Services.
Legal, Safety, and Security – We may disclose information where necessary to comply with applicable laws, legal processes, or government requests; enforce our terms and policies; detect and prevent fraud or security issues; or protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, or others.
Mergers & Acquisitions – In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other business transaction, your information may be disclosed or transferred to relevant third parties, such as successors or affiliates.
With Your Consent – We may share your information with third parties or publicly for other purposes at your direction or with your consent, such as when you choose to share content, interact with others, or participate in certain features or promotions.
To the extent we display advertising in the Services, and where required by applicable law, with your consent, we may disclose or allow online advertising networks, social media platforms, and other third parties to collect information about your use of the Services over time. This enables them to display ads on the Services, across your devices, and on other websites or apps.
This information is typically collected through cookies, software integrations, or similar tracking technologies that recognize your device. We and our partners use this data to make advertising more relevant to your interests and to support services such as reporting, attribution, analytics, and market research. This information may include:
Social Media Widgets/Plugins – Our Services may include social media features (such as Facebook, Google, Instagram, or Twitter buttons, widgets, or plugins). These providers may recognize you, collect information about your interaction with the Services, and use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
They may also offer interest-based advertising programs that allow us to show ads to users who have interacted with the Services or to audiences with similar characteristics. Your interactions with these features are governed by the respective privacy policies of those providers.
Cross-Device Linking – Our third-party partners may link your devices so that activity on one device can inform relevant advertising on another. This is done by collecting information about devices you use while logged into the Services and by working with partners that use tracking technologies or statistical models to identify devices belonging to the same user or household.
We may share a common identifier (such as an email address or user ID) with advertising partners to help recognize you across devices. This cross-device linking enables us and our partners to deliver interest-based advertising, personalize content, perform analytics, and measure campaign performance.
Managing Your Advertising Choices – To limit collection of information from mobile devices, please visit your device’s settings to set the “Limit Ad Tracking” or other similar features on your device.
You may also opt out through industry tools such as Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”), “Your Online Choices,” or by clicking on the “AdChoices” logo directly within an advertisement by companies participating in the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) self-regulatory program. These opt-out tools are provided by third parties, and we do not control or guarantee their effectiveness. Third parties may still collect information (e.g., via cookies) for purposes such as analytics and fraud prevention, as permitted under applicable standards.
You may still receive ads after limiting processing of your information for interest-based advertising, but those ads may be less relevant to your interests.
Depending on your settings, certain information (such as your account details, profile information, or content you create or share) may be visible to other users. If you choose to share content in public areas (e.g., videos, photos, posts, discussions, comments), it may be accessible to a broader audience, including outside the Services (such as through search engines or third-party platforms). Please use available tools that let you choose who you share your content with and always use caution in disclosing personal information, especially “sensitive” personal information, while using the Services. We are not responsible for the information you choose to publicly disclose.
The Services may contain integrations or links to third-party websites or services, including those of our advertising and business partners. By interacting with these third parties, you are providing information directly to the third party. The privacy policies of our partners may include additional terms and disclosures regarding their data collection and use practices. We encourage you to review those privacy policies and online terms of those third parties to learn more about their data collection and use practices. Please note that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties or any entity that it does not own or control.
If you have an account with us and would like us to delete your information, you may send an e-mail to the address set forth in the Contact Us section below. Please note that, if you proceed with the deletion of your account, you will no longer have access to the account or the Services associated with your account. Other steps you should take should you wish to delete your account include disassociating your Facebook account from our mobile apps, if applicable, and deleting the app from your mobile device. Please note that if you ask us to delete your account, all your settings, preferences, messages, and content will be lost and we may not be able to restore them in the future. Please note that your information, for example records pertaining to payments or customer service matters, may be retained for legal and accounting purposes. If you have sent or posted content on the Services, we may not be able to delete it.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the security of your personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, change or damage. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. Any transmission is at your own risk.
We retain your personal information for as long as needed to provide you with the Services, unless we are required by law to delete or if we accept your request to delete the information pursuant to applicable law. We will also retain and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When determining the length of time to retain your information, we consider various criteria, including whether we need the information to continue to provide you the Services, resolve a dispute, enforce our contractual agreements, prevent harm, promote safety, security and integrity, or protect ourselves, including our rights, property or products.
When we no longer require your personal information, we will look to delete, destroy, or anonymize it pursuant to our typical procedures. If this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will apply security measures to your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion or destruction can occur pursuant to our typical procedures. If we anonymize your personal information (so that it can no longer be associated with you), we can use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.
IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, THEN YOU MAY NOT USE OR ACCESS THE SERVICES AT ANY TIME OR IN ANY MANNER.
The Services are not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Services or knowingly allow them to use the Services. If you believe that we might have collected personal information from or about a child, please contact us at the email address set forth in the Contact Us section below.
